Before joining a Ripple Effect project, the effects of the climate crisis such as severe drought followed by heavy rain meant that she struggled to grow enough to eat, and her family often went hungry – eating just one meal a day.
“We couldn’t get either quality food or the quantity that we needed. We were hungry most of the time. We had nothing to sell so we couldn’t get any money.”

Adanech has started working alongside Ripple Effect and can already see signs of a brighter future.
