Start a ripple today so families in rural Africa can fight hunger and the climate crisis.
Rural Africa is rich with opportunity: resourceful communities and land which can produce enough food to feed the continent and beyond.
Sadly, families like Adanech’s (pictured) face poverty that is extreme, unjust, and worst of all – unnecessary.
Before joining a Ripple Effect project, the effects of the climate crisis such as severe drought followed by heavy rain meant that she struggled to grow enough to eat, and her family often went hungry – eating just one meal a day.

“We couldn’t get either quality food or the quantity that we needed. We were hungry most of the time. We had nothing to sell so we couldn’t get any money.”
Adanech, Ethiopia
Adanech has started working alongside Ripple Effect and can already see signs of a brighter future.
But there are many other mothers like her who are battling the effects of the climate crisis and extreme poverty.
For every family you support, three more families benefit from life-saving training too.
With you by their side, families like Adanech’s will create a ripple effect in their community. It starts when farmers come together to learn practical ways to fight hunger and the climate crisis.
As farmers learn more, grow more and sell more, the benefits are shared with their families, neighbours and communities too. Then they do the same. Soon hundreds, then thousands of people, are thriving.
Will you support mothers like Adanech by making a monthly gift today and helping them create a ripple effect in their local community?
From the joy of harvesting their first crop of nutritious vegetables, to a thriving garden with enough produce to sell and send their children to school; your regular gift will support families like Adanech’s every step of the way.
Families will no longer go hungry, and they will be able to grow a brighter future for their children.

$6 a month could support a family with the seeds and training they need to grow a wide variety of colourful fruits and vegetables to keep their children healthy and full of energy.

“I don’t want my children to stay at home like me and get married at an early age. I want them to get the skills and knowledge to reach higher levels. I want them to be economically empowered. I want them to support other families. I hope they’ll be successful in achieving highly respected positions.”
Adanech, Ethiopia
Adanech is hopeful that with you by their side, families like hers will have the chance to break the cycle of poverty for good.
Your regular donation will be used where the need is greatest to support the farming families we work alongside in rural Africa. Thank you for your support.
